Favorite Adventures

Sunrise Snorkeling – A natural setting of ocean calm and warm morning breeze complement an underwater wonders of schools of fish, colorful turtles and giant manta rays. The resort schedule includes an early morning sunrise snorkeling within 10 minutes boat ride from our resort. It seems that nobody else desires to wake up for a 6:30AM morning expedition so the trip becomes our own private adventure. The snorkeling gear includes swimming top to adjust to the cooler water temperatures in the morning. At the beginning the water seems cold, yet the first shock of coldness is soon forgotten as we observe the underwater calmness. The marine life begins to wake up, eat breakfast and we feel small bites of plankton confusing us for marine life. We quietly swim while observing the crystal clear underwater world, schools of fish and colorful coral formations. We are rewarded for our patience when we spot a brightly colored turtle swimming towards us and gracefully passing under our view. The smooth glide along the reef produces the scenery of a large morel eel exiting its hiding place in the coral. The final surprise resembles an experience in the science fiction movie when we see the giant manta rays swimming underneath us in a perfect formation. At first, the image resembles a long white robe moving through the ocean, then they gracefully swim closer to the surface creating a surreal experience. The memories of heavenly Maldives will never fade away.
