Travelers to China discover a remarkable culture, a rich history and unique souvenirs, such as ceramics, fabrics, artwork and traditional handicrafts.  The abacus is an ancient calculating tool widely used for thousands of years.  The Chinese abacus, called Suan Pan 算盘, consists of a wooden frame with beads on an upper deck and beads on a lower deck, divided by a horizontal beam.  The wooden beads strung on metal rods enable complex arithmetic calculations.  Our selected Chinese abacus is set in a decorative box with beautiful traditional motifs.  Measures: Abacus (length 7 ¾ inches, width 5 ¼ inches, height 1 ¾ inches).
