Taiwan

Taiwan is an island country in East Asia, located in the western Pacific Ocean.  Taiwan is known for its beautiful nature and dramatic landscapes.  The island boasts a mountainous terrain, stunning cliff formations along the coastlines and vibrant coral reefs.  A collection of national parks encompasses mountain peaks, volcanic landscapes, diverse forests, pristine beaches, scenic waterfalls and natural hot springs.  The nature trails traverse lush greenery and offer panoramic views of the natural gorges and rivers.  The Taroko Gorge, a natural multi-kilometer canyon, is a widely admired hiking destination.

Taroko National Park

Located in the northeastern part of Taiwan, Taroko National Park is an expansive land of stunning nature and historical settlements of Taroko indigenous people.  Taroko National Park boasts diverse landscapes characterized by mountain ranges, diverse forests, Alpine grassland, natural gorges, cascading waterfalls and rivers.  The nature trails overlook the marble canyon, the bank of Liwu River, natural hot springs, scenic waterfalls and diverse plant life.  Mount Nanhu, also known as Nanhu Dashan, is the highest mountain peak in the Tarako National Park.  The Eternal Spring Shrine, also called Changchun Shrine, is a memorial shrine, a waterfall and scenic landmark in the park. 

The Central Cross-Island Highway offers breathtaking scenery of Taroko George and Liwu River.  The Pudu Bridge, a pedestrian suspension bridge, is a gateway to fascinating landmarks.  Tianfeng Pagoda, encircled by beautiful nature, is an impressive seven story tower.  Xiangde Temple commands the view of the Taroko National Park.  Taroko Gorge, sculpted by Liwu River, features steep valley, marble cliffs, turquoise river and lush forests.  Taroko National Park is inhabited by Indigenous Taiwanese tribes since centuries.  Taroko indigenous people focus on preserving their culture, traditions and spiritual practices.  They pass down through generations the Taroko language, traditional crafts and unique beliefs in ancestral spirits.
