Poznań Traditions, Celebrated through Vibrant Festivals

Poznań, a historic city in west-central Poland, offers unique cultural experiences.  The Bamberg Festival is an annual Sunday celebration commemorating the arrival of the first settlers from Bamberg, Bavaria.  In the 18th century, farmers from Bavaria were invited to establish residence in the villages surrounding Poznań, influencing the region’s culture, craftsmanship and cuisine.  The vibrant festival features an orchestra playing traditional music and a lively procession in the Old Town. People of all ages wear traditional folk costumes, embellished with embroidery.  Women wear stunning headpieces adorned with flowers.  Poznań Traditions, passed down through the generations, are celebrated through festivals, cultural events and culinary festivities.
