The Rare Red Colobus Monkey of Zanzibar

The Zanzibar Archipelago is a renowned tropical destination.  The island of Zanzibar boasts pristine beaches, a vibrant underwater world and Jozani-Chwaka National Park. Situated in the southeastern coast of Zanzibar, the Jozani Forest is a protected habitat for the Red Colobus Monkeys, an endangered species of monkeys only found in Zanzibar.  Red Colobus Monkeys have beautiful rusty-red coats, contrasting with black faces framed by white hair.  We observe them, undisturbed by our presence, peacefully eating young leaves in the forest.
