Taiwan’s Destinations

Taiwan is an island country in East Asia, known for its beautiful nature and dramatic landscapes.  The island has lush greenery, mountainous terrain and remarkable coastlines.  The culture of Taiwan is a mixture of ancient traditions and modern influences.  Visitors can explore a myriad of cultural monuments and natural wonders.  New Taipei City, a special municipality in the northern Taiwan, has very interesting attractions.  The Nanya Rock Formations are sandstone formations located on the northeastern coast of New Taipei City.  The coastline of Nanya showcases patterned rock formations, formed over a period of time by the forces of nature.  The coastal erosion carved remarkable structures, unique patterns and distinct shapes. 

Jiufen is a historic mountain village, a former gold mining town and a lively tourist destination in New Taipei City.  Jiufen boasts traditional wooden architecture, narrow alleyways, quaint shops and teahouses.  Red lanterns decorate the narrow streets, creating an inviting atmosphere.  Jiufen Xaihai City God Temple, a magnificent temple dedicated to the City God, features a beautiful rooftop adorned with detailed carvings.  Situated on the hillside, the temple offers a panoramic view of the coastline.  Located near Jiufen, the Huangjin Waterfall “Golden Waterfall” is a unique scenic destination.  The water flowing on large rocks has a golden color due to the presence of different minerals.

Taipei is a vibrant city and a cultural center of Taiwan.  A collection of historical landmarks, famous temples and beautiful parks await visitors to Taipei.  The National Palace Museum is a spectacular structure, designed in a classical Chinese style.  The museum exhibits an exceptional collection of over 700,000 artifacts.  Located next to the National Palace Museum, the Zhishan Garden celebrates the beautiful garden styles of the Song and the Ming dynasties. 

Liberty Square is a prominent public plaza in Taipei, comprising the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, National Concert Hall, National Theater and gardens.  The Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is the national monument dedicated to the former President of Republic of China.  The 70 meters in height landmark features white walls and blue-tiled roof.  Taipei 101 Observatory, an impressive skyscraper, features observation decks overlooking the landscapes of Taipei.
